How to read the result

A match is an invitation
to compare context.

Gematria assigns numerical values to letters and adds them. In Hebrew interpretation, words with the same value may be read beside one another as a possible textual resonance. Numerical equality is the beginning of an inquiry, not proof that two subjects share an origin or identity.

Compare words under the same cipher. A value in English Ordinal cannot be directly equated with a total from Hebrew Standard.

Verify the spelling

Transliteration changes values. When studying a Hebrew source, calculate the original Hebrew spelling whenever possible.

Adds each Latin letter's position in the alphabet. This is the clearest modern English-language analogue to letter-number calculation.

Cycles the alphabet through one to nine. It is often called Full Reduction or Pythagorean reduction in modern calculators.

Reads the English alphabet from the opposite end, giving Z the value one and A the value twenty-six.
